ClassPen automatically switches to English when your browser or device language is not Korean. This guide explains every feature step by step.
1. Getting Started
1.1 Open in a browser
Open a web browser (recommended: Chrome · Edge · Safari) and go to:

The desktop app adds screen annotation (draw over your desktop and other apps).
1.3 Log in or continue as guest
When you open ClassPen you choose one of two modes:

Guest mode cannot load your notes on another device. To keep your work and use it anywhere, log in.1.4 Home screen

The vertical toolbar on the right (or the side you move it to) is the heart of ClassPen. It is icon-based — hover over any button with the mouse to see its name.
Main tools:

Pen — color · thickness (tap the selected pen again for settings; add multiple pens)

3. Key features
3.1 Choose a starting page (multi-page PDF)
When you open a multi-page PDF, a page preview grid appears first. Double-click the page you want to start from. (You can turn this off in Pen settings.)
3.2 Manage previous sessions
In Load previous session you can:

Search sessions by name•
Pin frequently used sessions to the top•
✕ Delete sessions you no longer need
•
Reopening the same document does not pile up duplicates in the list.
Session list & pins are stored in this browser/device. For a logged-in user, the actual annotations are saved on the server and restore across devices.
3.3 Recording & sharing
Record your screen (screen + mic + camera PIP). After recording you can save the file or upload it to a channel to share a link/QR with students.
4. FAQ
Q. My annotations don't seem to save.
→ Check that you are logged in. Guest mode saves only on this device; log in to view your work on other devices.
Q. I opened a PDF but the annotations don't appear.
→ Make sure you're logged in with the same account, and open the same file the same way (Open document) to restore previous notes.
Q. Recording keeps asking for permission.
→ Browser: Settings → Site permissions → classpen.co.kr → allow Screen recording. Mac desktop app: System Settings → Screen & System Audio Recording → enable ClassPen.
Q. I can't draw with my finger on iPad.
→ This is by design. Use an Apple Pencil; finger is for scrolling and UI only.
Q. My recording was saved as WebM.
→ Old browser. Update to the latest Chrome · Safari to save as MP4.
Q. I installed the desktop app but it won't run.
→ Mac: right-click → Open (to pass Gatekeeper). Windows: SmartScreen → More info → Run.
